Whats Inside the Cranberry Seed?

Omega 3 from cranberries is an essential fatty acid that the human body requires to have the best health. Even though humans need this nutrient, research into omega 3 from cranberries is relatively new. However, research into omega 3 and other essential fatty acids found in other sources goes back to the 1930s. During that decade, two American scientists were studying vitamin F. As a result of their research, they came to the conclusion that there were two different fatty acids at work in their patients: omega 3 and omega 6. This lead to further research into the potential health benefits and risks associated with these fatty acids. Other research began into other sources of the ingredient, leading to the discovery that it was possible to get omega 3 from cranberries.

In the 1970s the link between adequate levels of omega 3 in the diet and good cardiovascular health was noted. This led to further research into omega 3 from cranberries, fish oils and flax seed. In 1982 two researchers from Sweden were awarded the Nobel Prize for their work in the field. These two researchers noted two important facts. First, they showed the way that fatty acids, like omega 3 from cranberries, worked with human hormones to help an individual attain optimum health. Also, they showed that there was a direct correlation between a deficiency in fatty acids and certain health complaints. In the 1990s the link between cardiovascular health and omega 3 was studied further. Modern research into omega 3 from cranberries is focusing on finding even more health benefits of the fatty acid.

All of this research into omega 3 from cranberries is essential because Americans do not eat enough of this ingredient in their natural diets. In fact, research that was conducted by some of the top universities in the country indicates that as many as 60% of all Americans do not have enough omega 3 in their diets. Part of the reason for this is the fact that many of the sources of the fatty acid are fish based, and these products taste and smell bad to some people. This is one major benefit of omega 3 from cranberries. Since omega 3 from cranberries is a completely plant based product, there is no fishy smell related to it. Not only that, but vegetarians can consume omega 3 from cranberries because it contains no plant products.

Fatty acids such as omega 3 from cranberries fall into a category of nutrients known as essential fatty acids. This means that these fatty acids are crucial to a healthy life. However, the body is not able to produce them on its own. This means that essential fatty acids must be consumed through food. It is especially important for children to consume enough omega 3, because research indicates that the body uses omega 3 from cranberries when the brain is developing.

Omega 3 from cranberries comes from the seed of the cranberry plant. These seeds are the natural waste product that is produced when cranberry juice is made. The seeds recovered from the juice making process and placed into a cold press that uses no chemicals or oxygen. The press squeezes the oil out of the seeds. It is this oil that contains the important fatty acid.

This extract can be used several ways. One common way to use omega 3 from cranberries is to put it into a capsule or soft gel that is taken as a dietary supplement. Dried cranberries, which are a popular healthy snack, are sometimes infused with the oil that contains omega 3 from cranberries. This enriched snack provides a tasty and easy way of consuming the important fatty acid.
